چکیده
Aging and sun exposure are the leading causes of skin cancer. It has been shown that epigenetic changes, such as DNA methylation, well established mechanisms for However, large scale data acquisition is a problem it relies mostly on invasive biopsies. Here we present method non-invasive sample collection using tape-stripping analysis. We compared matched shave biopsies tape stripping samples to evaluate feasibility validation reproducibility in sun-protected sun-exposed from cohort covering various ages, ethnicities types (n=277) enzymatic conversion whole genome Illumina sequencing. show good correlation global methylation landscape between biopsy. Moreover, consistent profiles collected different parts body (FDR < 1e −5). identify hypomethylated blocks healthy epidermis result chronic UV irradiation. Results also indicate significant age-related hypermethylation CpG islands. Interestingly, this effect was strongly enriched at specific age window, 50–55 years. These describe combined with sequencing way measure changes suggest tape-stripping, particularly when done cohorts patients, could be used biomarkers ageing damage, possibly track treatment response interventions.

Connectomics: comprehensive approaches for whole-brain mapping.
The aim of connectomics analysis is to understand whole-brain neural connections. This is accomplished using new biotechnologies. Here, we provide an overview of the recent progress in connectomics analysis. The entire neural network of an organism was revealed for the first time in the nematode. Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) have an advantage of their limited number of neurons and their ...
متن کاملWhole Genome Optical Mapping
An innovative new technology, optical mapping, is used to infer the genome map of the location of short sequence patterns called restriction sites. The technology, developed by David Schwartz, allows the visualization of the maps of randomly located single molecules around a million base pairs in length. The genome map is constructed from overlapping these shorter maps. The mathematical and com...
